Grüner Veltliner ORGANIC

The Grüner Veltliner from Winzer Krems shows what the Kremstal region does so reliably well: a fresh, clear white wine with character and substance — direct and without frills.

Winzer Krems is one of Austria's most significant wine cooperatives, founded in 1938 and today covering around 900 hectares of vineyards along the Danube. The sites around Krems and Langenlois are among the best addresses for Grüner Veltliner: loess soils and tertiary conglomerates define the style of the wines. This wine comes from organically farmed vineyards — without synthetic pesticides and herbicides, with a focus on healthy soil and natural aroma development.

In the glass, it shows the typical profile of the grape variety: white pepper, green apple, a hint of citrus zest. The acidity is lively and clear, the body lean, the finish spicy and persistent. Not a heavy wine — one that whets the appetite.

Served at 10–12 °C, it pairs well with Wiener Schnitzel, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, goat cheese, or a simple dinner with bread and aged mountain cheese. It also makes a fine impression as an uncomplicated aperitif.
