Penfolds is one of the most famous wineries in Australia and has stood for artisanal precision in handling red wine since 1844. The house is known for its consistent blending approach: sites and grape varieties are not left to chance, but are specifically selected according to style. The FWT 585 stands in this tradition – a wine that transfers origin and vintage character directly into the bottle.

2021 was unusually cool and rainy in Australia. Cool temperatures in August and September slowed down ripening – an advantage for the acidity structure and tannin development. Despite the large berry size, the grape skins ripened with promising tannins. The result: a red wine with a medium to powerful body, fine acidity line, and a long, dry finish. Expect dark berry fruit, a hint of earth, and subtle spice.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs with braised lamb rack, aged cheddar, or a classic roast beef.
