Bin 180 in gift packaging

The Bin 180 is no ordinary vintage in the Penfolds portfolio — it was launched for the house's 180th anniversary and bundles the most significant Coonawarra parcels that Penfolds has built up over decades. Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Australia's most precise red wine regions, aged in steel tanks to bring the fruit and the characteristic minerality of Coonawarra's famous Terra Rossa soils unfiltered into the glass.

Coonawarra is considered Australia's answer to classic Cabernet sites: cool climate despite its South Australian location, iron-rich red clay soil over limestone. This results in wines with structure, depth, and a freshness that is hardly achievable in warmer regions. In the glass, the Bin 180 shows dark berry fruit — cassis, blackberry — with a subtle herbal note typical of Coonawarra Cabernet, as well as a long, tannin-firm finish.

Best served at 17–18 °C. A classic companion to pan-seared beef fillet, lamb racks with a herb crust, or mature cheddar. Anyone who knows and appreciates Penfolds' signature will find a wine here that combines the anniversary occasion with regional depth.
