Firriato Chiaramonte Inzolia Bianco Sicilia

Inzolia is the quiet great among Sicily's white grape varieties—aromatically restrained, yet precise and distinctive on the palate. This Bianco from the Firriato winery demonstrates what the variety is capable of when vinified with care.

Firriato has been one of the driving forces behind modern Sicilian winemaking since the 1990s. The winery cultivates vineyards around Trapani in the west of the island—a terroir of calcareous clay, intense sunshine, and the cooling influence of the Mediterranean. This very combination characterizes the Inzolia: ripe fruit, but without heaviness.

In the glass, the wine shines golden yellow with green reflections. The nose reveals blossoms, fresh herbs, and a hint of salinity. On the palate, it is fresh, with lively acidity and a characteristic almond note on the finish—a classic Inzolia trait that makes the wine more memorable than many other Mediterranean white wines of its class.

Serving suggestion: Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled squid, pasta with clams, or a Caprese salad made with ripe tomatoes. Also a good choice as a casual summer evening wine on its own.
