Duas Quintas Ramos Pinto Douro

Quinta de Ervamoira is situated at a low altitude, primarily on schist soils in the heart of the Douro Valley. Here, the grapes are cultivated in a hot, dry climate, ensuring consistently deep ripening. At a higher elevation, we find Quinta dos Bons Ares, where the grapes grow on granite and ripen in fresh, windy weather, which imparts freshness and vibrancy. Hand-harvested and selected, the wine is aged 80% in stainless steel tanks and 20% in barriques for 18 months. The result is a bright garnet-red wine, streaked with light red reflections. The bouquet of Duas Quintas initially presents floral notes, underscored by intense, fruity aromas, including ripe plums and figs, and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, Duas Quintas is very dense and refreshing. Silky tannins lead to a beautiful finish characterized by the flavors of ripe cherries. Wine Enthusiast awarded 88 points for the 2010 vintage.
