Delas Viognier

The grapes for Delas' Viognier thrive on calcareous soils on the slopes of the Pont du Gard. Brief skin contact during maceration lends the wine structure, but the grapes are pressed quickly to emphasize its fruity character. To ensure delicate fruitiness and freshness, malolactic fermentation is omitted, and the white wine matures exclusively in stainless steel tanks. On the nose, the typical aromas of the grape variety unfold, including apricot, peach, exotic fruits, and citrus notes. On the palate, the wine is soft and smooth, with a fresh finish reminiscent of dried fruit. It pairs beautifully with steamed fish, enhanced with a touch of lemon and butter sauce, or with asparagus dishes.

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought a turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and transformed Delas into one of the "Big Four" of the Rhône. Grange, with his Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance rather than sheer power. Vinification by individual parcel, an uncompromising focus on terroir. 32 hectares of their own top vineyards: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character. In 2019, Delas moved into its new cellar in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years, finally seeing the light where it belongs. The Rhône as it should taste.
