Wachenheimer Goldbächel P.C. Riesling dry QW Pfalz

The Wachenheimer Goldbächel is one of the most renowned single vineyards in the Palatinate — a Premier Cru in the Bürklin-Wolf system, which classifies the winery's best terroirs. Here, Riesling grows on sandy-loamy soils with limestone subsoil, which gives the wine a characteristic freshness and mineral substance.

Weingut Dr. Bürklin-Wolf in Wachenheim is one of the most traditional addresses in the Palatinate. Family-owned for over 300 years, biodynamically farmed since 2005, and Demeter-certified. The winery stands for site-true Rieslings with a clear statement of origin — not a mass product, but artisanally maintained viticulture on around 85 hectares.

In the glass, the Goldbächel shows floral notes of white peach and jasmine, underpinned by ripe citrus fruit and a fine mineral pull. The acidity is present but integrated — the wine appears dense without heaviness. The finish is long and spicy. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.

Good with fried sea bream with herb butter, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a mature goat cheese. Also a good choice as a sophisticated aperitif for summer evenings with friends.
