Bollinger Special Cuvée Brut Salmanazar HK 9.0L

Bollinger's Special Cuvée is one of the most famous non-vintage champagnes in the world — and for good reason. What distinguishes it from many other houses is the way Bollinger stores its reserve wines: not in tanks, but in magnum bottles under natural cork, with a light bottle fermentation that preserves freshness for years. This method is an exception in Champagne.

The assemblage combines predominantly wines from Premier and Grand Cru sites, supplemented by five to ten percent of these aged reserve wines. In the glass, it shows a golden colour with a fine, persistent perlage — a sign of the high Pinot content in the cuvée. On the nose, baked apple, apple compote and ripe peach, plus a subtle spiciness. On the palate, pear, brioche and fresh hazelnut follow, integrated into a velvety structure with a clear, dry finish.

This Salmanazar with its nine litres is made for big moments — parties, anniversaries or tables where many people come together. It goes well with sushi and sashimi, scallops, lobster, grilled poultry or an aged Parmigiano. Best served at 8–10 °C.

The Champagne House

Champagne Bollinger

Bollinger is not a champagne that explains itself – it reveals itself. Since 1829, the house in Aÿ has operated according to the same principles: meticulous craftsmanship, Pinot Noir at its core, and maturity as a mark of quality.

What sets Bollinger apart from many others: The wines are vinified in genuine oak barrels – a process that hardly anyone else undertakes anymore. Riddling and disgorging are done by hand. No shortcuts, no simplifications.

Whether the approachable Special Cuvée or the legendary Vieilles Vignes Françaises from pre-phylloxera vines – there is real attitude in every glass.
