Arrenaou

The Arrenaou from Château Fontarèche is a red wine from the Languedoc – a region known for powerful, sun-ripened cuvées that has gained significantly in precision in terms of style over the last few decades.

Château Fontarèche is located in the Corbières, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in France, where slate and limestone soils give the vines a natural stress that promotes concentration and depth. The winery has been cultivating its vineyards for generations and relies on traditional vinification with a modern awareness of quality.

In the glass, the Arrenaou shows dark berry fruit – blackberry, black cherry – with a background of garrigue herbs, lavender, and a hint of leather. The body is full-bodied, the tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the finish is warm and spicy.

Served at 16–18 °C, it accompanies leg of lamb with rosemary, grilled merguez, or a strong goat cheese from the south. It also cuts a fine figure with an evening of charcuterie and baguette.
