Freyburg-Unstrut Winegrowers' Association
The Freyburg-Unstrut Winegrowers' Association – home to 500 passionate winegrowers for 78 years. From Höhnstedt to Freyburg and on to Jena, they cultivate around 360 hectares of vineyards, making them the largest wine producer in the former East Germany. Working in harmony with nature: mineral-rich, heat-retaining soils provide the vines with nutrients, while the riverbanks offer stability. Perfect conditions for expressive wines. In the cellar, a thousand-year-old tradition meets modern technology. One of Germany's largest wooden barrel cellars, computer-controlled fermentation tanks – all according to the standards of cellar master Hans-Albrecht Zieger. The result: multifaceted wines of the highest quality.
