Freyburg Saale Unstrut Silvaner

Freyburg Saale Unstrut Silvaner
A Silvaner from one of Germany's northernmost wine regions — cooler climate, mineral-rich soils, clear fruit without heaviness.
The Freyburg-Unstrut winegrowers' association is the most important winery on the Saale and Unstrut rivers and has been pooling the grapes of many small winegrowers in the region for decades. Silvaner—traditionally vinified on the Saale-Unstrut as an uncomplicated, everyday white wine—benefits here from the continental climate with warm summers and cool nights, which preserve its freshness and acidity.
In the glass, it displays aromas of yellow apple, mild pear, and a hint of white blossom . The palate is light-bodied, with pleasant effervescence and a clean, uncomplicated acidity. The finish is short, but direct, clear, and very drinkable.
- Temperature: 8–10 °C
- Goes well with: Green salad with goat cheese, steamed vegetables, light pasta or quiche
