Haras de Pirque – a winery and horse farm in the heart of the Maipo Valley. In 1991, Eduardo Matte acquired the property and opened it as a winery. It comprises 600 hectares of land, 120 of which are vineyards. The main building, shaped like a horseshoe, is a striking landmark. Today, the estate is 50 percent owned by the Marchesi Antinori family from Tuscany. Together, they produce wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carmenère, and other grape varieties. The Pirque subregion is considered one of Chile's best wine-growing areas worldwide, especially for red wines. In 2004, their first joint project debuted: Albis. Maipo Valley, Tuscan influence – a fascinating combination.

Haras de Pirque is located in the Pirque sub-region in the Chilean Maipo Valley – one of the most renowned red wine growing areas in South America. Eduardo Matte acquired the 600-hectare estate in 1991 and thus laid the foundation for a winery that is now known far beyond the country's borders. 120 hectares of it are planted with vines, the rest remains a horse farm – the striking horseshoe-shaped main building makes both worlds visible.
Since the partnership with the Marchesi Antinori from Tuscany, who hold 50 percent of the estate, Italian cellar craftsmanship has flowed into the wines. The first joint project, the Cuvée Albis, debuted in 2004 and has stood ever since for the combination of Chilean terroir and Tuscan precision. In the cellar, wines are created from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Syrah – structured, with depth, for drinkers who appreciate red wines with attitude.
