Ecral Carménère

Ecral Carménère
Carménère, Chile's rediscovered flagship grape variety, shows its approachable side here: deep cherry red in the glass, with a nose of ripe plum, dark spices and a hint of green bell pepper – the typical trademark of the variety.
Haras de Pirque is located in the Maipo Valley, southeast of Santiago, in the foothills of the Andes. The winery is part of a traditional stud farm – horse breeding and viticulture have shaped the estate for generations. The soils of the Maipo Valley, a mixture of clay, sand, and gravel, produce red wines with structure and depth of fruit.
On the palate, it's soft and direct: blackberry, plum, and a subtle spiciness from barrel aging. The tannins are velvety, the acidity moderate, and the finish medium-long and pleasantly rounded.
Ready to drink now, best before 2026. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled beef, chimichurri, spicy chorizo, or a hearty lentil stew.
