A Pinot Blanc from one of Germany's northernmost wine regions — clearly structured, with the cool minerality that characterizes Saale-Unstrut wines.
Kloster Pforta is one of the oldest wineries on the Saale River: its roots reach back to the 12th century, when Cistercian monks cultivated the steep slopes near Bad Kösen. Today, the winery cultivates around 30 hectares of south-facing slopes made of shell limestone and variegated sandstone – a geology that gives the wine grip and length, even when the summers are short.
In the glass, this wine displays typical Pinot Blanc aromas: white peach, pear, and a hint of almond. The acidity is present but not sharp—it keeps the wine fresh and gives it structure. The finish is dry and clean, with a light mineral note reminiscent of chalk.
