W White Zweigelt

W White Zweigelt
Zweigelt is known as a red wine – here it comes as a white wine, a vinological rarity from the Weinviertel region. The grapes are pressed as with white wine: no skin contact, no color extraction, but all focus on freshness and aromatics.
Johann Topf cultivates his vineyards in Strass im Straßertale, one of the best villages in the Weinviertel region. The grapes for this wine grow in the Blickenweg vineyard – a site known for its intense aromas. Topf works with precision and craftsmanship; the cellar serves to express the fruit, not to overpower it.
Almost crystal clear in the glass. The nose reveals wildflowers, a hint of elderflower, and the typical delicate spiciness of the Zweigelt grape. Light and direct on the palate, with a fine mousse – a slight effervescence – that underscores the freshness. The finish is long, citrusy, and invigorating.
