W White Zweigelt

W White Zweigelt
Zweigelt is known as a red wine – here it comes as a white, a vinological rarity from the Weinviertel. The berries are pressed like white wine: no skin contact, no color extraction, but all the focus on freshness and aromatics.
Johann Topf cultivates his vineyards in Strass im Straßertale, one of the best villages in the Weinviertel. The vines for this wine are located in the Blickenweg vineyard – a site known for its aromatic intensity. Topf works with precision and craftsmanship; the cellar serves to express the fruit, not to over-shape it.
Almost water-clear in the glass. The nose shows meadow flowers, a hint of elderflower, and the typically delicate spice of the Zweigelt grape. On the palate, lightweight and direct, with a fine mousse – a light prickle – that underscores the freshness. The finish is long, citrus-fresh, and animating.
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
- Pairs with: Grilled vegetables, goat cheese, light fish dishes, or enjoyed pure as a summer aperitif
