Tor di Lupo Lagrein Riserva DOC

Tor di Lupo is the flagship wine of Cantina Andrian — and one of the most convincing examples of what Lagrein can achieve on South Tyrolean gravel and scree.

Cantina Andrian is located on the northern edge of the Bolzano lowlands, nestled between the Adige and Mendel rivers. For decades, the cooperative has been vinifying Lagrein from vineyards known for their deep, mineral-rich soils – ideal for this northern Italian grape variety, which nowhere else develops its full depth.

In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red with violet reflections. The nose offers dark berry fruits—blackberry, black cherry—accompanied by violets and a hint of toasted oak. On the palate, it is velvety and full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, slightly spicy finish. The Riserva aging adds further depth without overpowering the varietal's characteristic freshness.

Serving suggestion: Serve at 17–18 °C. Drinking window until 2030+. Pairs well with braised beef, wild boar, Brasato al Barolo, or a hearty South Tyrolean speck and cheese platter.

Cantina Andrian

Cantina Andrian – this is South Tyrol as it should be: rooted in a long history, yet never stagnant. Behind this winery lies a conviction that you can taste in every glass: tradition is not a museum. It is something living, constantly evolving – harvest after harvest, generation after generation. The people at Andrian are always searching for new paths, without forgetting their roots. What does that mean? Wines that embody the soul of the place – the cool mountain air, the mineral-rich soils, the unique character of alpine vineyards – and yet feel fresh and contemporary. Not just managing the status quo, but a truly distinctive style. When you open a wine from Andrian, you drink a piece of South Tyrol – vibrant, honest, and full of character.
