Tor di Lupo Lagrein Riserva DOC

The Tor di Lupo is the flagship wine of Cantina Andrian — and one of the most convincing proofs of what Lagrein can achieve on South Tyrolean gravel and pebbles.

Cantina Andrian is located on the northern edge of the Bolzano Unterland, nestled between the Adige river and the Mendel range. For decades, the cooperative has been vinifying Lagrein from sites known for their deep, mineral soils — ideal for this Northern Italian grape variety, which unfolds its full depth nowhere else.

In the glass, it shows a dense garnet red with violet reflections. On the nose, dark berry fruits — blackberry, black cherry — accompanied by violets and a hint of roasted oak. On the palate, velvety and full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, slightly spicy finish. The Riserva aging brings additional depth without masking the varietal-typical freshness.

Drinking recommendation: Serve at 17–18 °C. Pairs with braised beef, wild boar, Brasato al Barolo, or a hearty South Tyrolean speck and cheese platter.

Cantina Andrian

Cantina Andrian – this is South Tyrol as it should be: rooted in a long history, yet never stagnant. Behind this winery lies a conviction that you can taste in every glass: tradition is not a museum. It is something living, constantly evolving – harvest after harvest, generation after generation. The people at Andrian are always searching for new paths, without forgetting their roots. What does that mean? Wines that embody the soul of the place – the cool mountain air, the mineral-rich soils, the unique character of alpine vineyards – and yet feel fresh and contemporary. Not just managing the status quo, but a truly distinctive style. When you open a wine from Andrian, you drink a piece of South Tyrol – vibrant, honest, and full of character.
