Tasca Regaleali Cygnus Sicilia DOC

A Sicilian red wine with an unusual origin story: Cygnus bears the swan in its name – and thus the memory of Richard Wagner's visit to Villa Tasca in 1881, where the composer completed the last pages of Parsifal.

The Tasca d'Almerita winery cultivates the Regaleali estate in the heart of Sicily, far from the coast at an altitude of around 400 meters. This elevation brings cool nights, which preserve the acidity and freshness of the grapes – unusual for an island more commonly associated with sun and warmth. The Cygnus matures in barriques, thus combining Sicilian fruit depth with the structuring influence of the oak.

In the glass, it displays aromas of raspberry, blackberry, and dark cherry, along with notes of tobacco and dark chocolate from barrel aging. On the palate, it is well-balanced: good acidity, fine tannins, and a spicy, full-bodied finish without heaviness. James Suckling rates it 91 points .
