Nozze d'Oro Contea di Sclafani DOC

In 1984, Count Giuseppe Tasca d'Almerita wanted to celebrate his golden wedding anniversary with his wife Franca by creating a wine that would tell the story of both the family and the estate. The unique grape blend reflects his romantic spirit – Inzolia and Sauvignon Blanc from the Tasca selection, a hand-picked grape from a vineyard in Regaleali dating back to the end of the First World War. The use of select yeasts from our vineyards further inextricably links this wine to its terroir. Fresh in its youth, the wine possesses unexpected aging potential, balancing its tertiary aromas with intense fruit flavors. The Inzolia grapes for the Nozze d'Oro come from the Barbabietole vineyard (8.40 ha), the Sauvignon Blanc from the vineyard in Santa Tea. The Contea di Sclafani designation of origin is relatively new and has held DOC status since 1996. James Suckling: 91 points for the 2020 vintage.
