Shy but awesome

The name says it all: Scheu aber geil (Shy but awesome) from Emil Bauer in the Palatinate is a Scheurebe wine that surprises with its aromatic power and simultaneous freshness. The Scheurebe is considered one of the most expressive German grape varieties — in the hands of the Bauers from Kallstadt, it unfolds its full potential.

Emil Bauer stands for uncomplicated, drinkable wines from the Palatinate that do not hide their character behind label seriousness. The Scheurebe delivers what it does best here: blackcurrant, grapefruit zest, and a hint of gooseberry, plus a lively acidity that keeps the palate awake. The finish is aromatic and long, with a slightly spicy note.

Best served at 6–8 °C. Goes well with fish, poultry, vegetables, and asparagus. It also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif — direct, fruity, without any detours.
