Emil Bauer Sauvignon Blanc

Emil Bauer Sauvignon Blanc
The Sauvignon Blanc from Emil Bauer from the Palatinate shows what this grape variety can achieve in German hands: clear fruit, lively acidity, and a precise, dry finish.
The Emil Bauer winery is located in Landau-Nussdorf in the Southern Palatinate and is today managed by brothers Konstantin and Philipp Bauer. The family manages its vineyards on sandy loess soil and sandy loam soils — foundations for fresh, aromatically emphasized white wines. Sauvignon Blanc has ideal conditions in the Southern Palatinate: warm days, cool nights, sufficient precipitation for slow aroma development.
In the glass, fresh gooseberry, a hint of elderflower, and a fine green note of herbs appear. The acidity is lively without stinging, the body is medium-light, the finish is mineral-fresh. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
Pairs well with goat cheese, grilled asparagus, sushi, or light fish dishes. It also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif in the evening on the terrace.
