Rotenberg Riesling Kabinett

From the Rotenberg in Altenbamberg – one of the steepest sites in the Nahe at an altitude of almost 450 meters – comes this Kabinett, which shows what Riesling with fine residual sweetness can achieve: no heaviness, no compromise, but clear fruit with backbone.

Gut Hermannsberg cultivates this steep slope on volcanic rock, which gives the wine its characteristic mineral spice. Aged in steel tanks, the natural freshness of the grapes is completely preserved – no wood to mask the fruit.

In the glass, Amalfi lemon and mandarin dominate, carried by a lively acidity structure. The subtle sweetness of the Kabinett predicate adds juiciness to the wine without weighing it down – the finish remains fresh, with a mineral-spicy aftertaste that is reminiscent of the volcanic soil.

Classic with spicy Asian dishes, preferably with chili or ginger – the residual sweetness cushions the heat. It also cuts a fine figure as a chilled aperitif on warm days. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C.
