Gut Hermannsberg

What was founded in 1901 as the Royal Prussian Wine Domain Schlossböckelheim-Niederhausen is today one of the most famous wineries on the Nahe. Since 2009, Christine Dinse and Jens Reidel have been running the estate — since 2010 under the name Gut Hermannsberg — and have consistently led it back to the top tier of German Riesling. The award as "Up-and-comer of the Year" in the Gault-Millau 2011 and the title "Winemaker of the Year" from the FAZ in 2016 mark this path.

The winery farms 30 hectares on seven VDP Grosse Lagen (Grand Cru sites) around Niederhausen an der Nahe — including Hermannsberg, Hermannshöhle, and Kupfergrube. 95 percent of the vineyard area is planted with Riesling, supplemented by Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. The soils alternate between weathered porphyry, slate, and melaphyre, shaping a style that combines tension and minerality with fine fruit: clear structure, lively acidity, long finish.

The wines of Gut Hermannsberg stand for artisanal precision without sensationalism. Whether dry Grosses Gewächs Riesling or classic Prädikat wines — the origin from the steep slopes of the Nahe is readable in every glass. For Riesling lovers who value depth and origin over pleasantness.
