Roda I Reserva DOCa Rioja 0.75L

The Roda I Reserva is the powerful, dark-fruited side of the Rioja Alta — a red wine that prioritizes depth and structure over pleasingness.

Bodegas Roda is located in the heart of Haro, the historic wine-growing center of the Rioja Alta. The grapes for Roda I come exclusively from bush vines over 30 years old, growing around the winery—Tempranillo complemented by Graciano. The age of the vines ensures concentrated fruit and, naturally, low yields. The wine is aged in barriques, which gives it its characteristic blend of fruit and oak spice.

In the glass, the Roda I displays dark berry fruit—blackberry and black cherry—alongside notes of cedar, leather, and a hint of tobacco. The body is full, the tannins ripe and dense, the finish long and spicy.

Best served between 16 and 18 °C . Pairs well with leg of lamb with herbs, Ibérico pork roast, or aged Manchego cheese. If opened now, decant for at least an hour—it still has aging potential for the coming years.

Bodegas Roda

Bodegas RODA is no ordinary winery. In the late 1980s, the Rotllant Daurella family came to Rioja with the clear intention of creating something lasting. The result is one of the most exciting wineries in Spain.

High above Haro's railway station district, wines are produced that bring out the best in old Tempranillo vines: SELA as an approachable entry point, RODA for deep red fruit, RODA I for dark power and freshness – and CIRSION for truly great moments. A winery that knows its roots and yet always looks to the future.
