Rings Kallstadt Saumagen Riesling GG
The Saumagen vineyard is Kallstadt's most famous site – and Rings is one of the wineries that consistently exploits its potential. This Riesling bears the VDP's GG seal: dry, site-specific, and uncompromising.
Brothers Andreas and Steffen Rings cultivate their vineyards in the Palatinate with a clear focus on expressing their origin. The Saumagen vineyard lies on calcareous marl soils, which give the Riesling its characteristic tension – a combination of richness and cool minerality that is not a given in the Palatinate.
In the glass, a taut, precise Riesling reveals itself: lime zest, green apple, and a hint of fresh mint on the nose, underpinned by a subtle limestone note. On the palate, dense fruit, firmly integrated acidity, and a long, salty-mineral finish. Not a lush Palatinate Riesling, but a precise one.
