Ungstein Nussriegel Riesling QbA dry
The Ungsteiner Nussriegel Riesling is considered a purist, powerful Riesling style, which is already evident in the bouquet. The nose reveals strong roasted aromas, fully ripe yellow fruits, hazelnut, nougat, mirabelle plums, and juicy brioche. On the palate, the Riesling is elegant and persistent, yet also delicately spicy and endowed with wonderful fruit flavors. The fine texture of this wine, with its pronounced minerality and highly defined character, culminates in a fine, long finish.

The origins of today's VDP winery can be traced back to the parents of Steffen and Andreas Rings, who ran a mixed farm that continued to operate as such well into the 1990s. From 2000 onwards, Steffen Rings took over the business and restructured it into a dedicated winery. In 2008, Andreas Rings returned from his apprenticeship at the Wagner-Stempel winery and has since been managing the Freinsheim winery in the Palatinate region together with his brother Steffen. The approximately 40-hectare estate is planted with roughly equal numbers of red and white grape varieties. The vineyards feature diverse soils – gravelly sand, terra rossa (red earth), and limestone – where Riesling, Pinot Noir, and international grape varieties thrive. The individual vineyard sites are located in Freinsheim, Kallstein, Ungestein, and Leitstadt.
