The small cross Magnum

The small cross Magnum
Rings' small cross is an unfiltered cuvée with depth and character – dark, spicy, with an aroma profile that arouses curiosity.
The Rings winery from Freinsheim in the Palatinate is one of the region's most reliable producers. Brothers Andreas and Steffen Rings work with classic Bordeaux grape varieties as well as St. Laurent, emphasizing meticulous work in both the vineyard and the cellar. Aging in new and used barriques gives the wine structure without overpowering it – the unfiltered bottling preserves its substance.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby color. The nose opens with aromas of cassis, cold smoke, and a hint of beef broth – an unusual yet harmonious combination. These are complemented by vegetal notes, pine needles, and leather, which lend the wine an earthy, almost rustic depth. On the palate, it is full-bodied with well-integrated tannins and a long, spicy finish.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised beef, leg of lamb with herbs, or strong hard cheese. The magnum bottle is ideal for sharing at a table with friends or family – or for a wine that will reward you with a few more years of aging.

The beginnings of today's VDP winery were laid by the parents of Steffen and Andreas Rings with a mixed agricultural business, which was run as such until well into the 1990s. From the year 2000, Steffen Rings occupied himself with the business and restructured it into a pure winery. From 2008, Andreas Rings also returned from his training at the Wagner-Stempel winery and has been running the winery in Freinsheim in the Palatinate together with his brother Steffen since 2008. On the 30-hectare winery, red and white grapes grow in equal halves. The sites have different soils - gravelly sand, Terra Rossa (red earth) and limestone - on which predominantly Riesling, Pinot Noir and international grape varieties thrive. The individual sites belong to Freinsheim, Kallstein, Ungestein and Leitstadt.
