Riesling Schiefer

Riesling Schiefer
The Riesling Schiefer from Schloss Lieser shows what Mosel Riesling on slate soil can achieve: lean, lively, with a depth that one does not expect from this entry-level wine.
Schloss Lieser is located in the heart of the Middle Mosel, between Bernkastel and Brauneberg. The winery with its steep slopes on blue Devonian slate is one of the most reliable addresses in the region — the mineral imprint of the soil is palpable in every sip.
On the nose, cool herbal spice, lemon zest, and a hint of fine lees. On the palate, finely juicy and precise: citrus zest, white blossoms, a dash of exotic fruit in the background. The body remains lean and graceful, the acidity is lively without sharpness. Extract sweetness and dryness are in balance. The finish brings back herbal spice — long and clear.
