Riesling Château de Schengen

Riesling Château de Schengen
Riesling from the Luxembourg Moselle — stylistically closely related to its German neighbor, but with its own character: somewhat softer in acidity, aromatically clearer and more fruit-oriented.
Château de Schengen is located right at the tripoint of Germany, France, and Luxembourg, not far from the town that gave its name to the Schengen Agreement. The vines grow on blue slate along the Luxembourg Moselle River—a soil that gives Riesling its characteristic minerality, clearly perceptible in the glass.
In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose is dominated by lemon zest and white peach, with a subtle hint of slate underneath. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with lively, smooth acidity, finishing with a salty minerality and pleasant length.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Pairs well with fried river fish (pike-perch, trout), mild goat cheese, or as a simple accompaniment to vegetable quiche. Also convincing as an aperitif.
