Prunella Mandorlata Plum Liqueur 33% vol. 0.7L

Prunella Mandorlata is a plum liqueur from Friuli that combines stone fruit and almond. With 33% vol., it is one of the stronger liqueurs and is well-suited as a digestif after a meal.

Behind the bottle is Nonino Distillatori from Percoto, a distilling family that is known in Italy primarily for its grappas and distillates. The liqueur picks up on this Friulian tradition: the plum provides the main aroma, the almond rounds it off and sets a nutty counterpoint.

In the nose, ripe plum, dark stone fruit notes, and a hint of marzipan appear. On the palate, the liqueur appears full and soft, the sweetness remains balanced, and the almond note lies subtly under the fruit. The finish is long and fruity, with a slightly bitter almond trace. Serve it neat, slightly chilled, or on ice. It also goes well over vanilla ice cream, with almond cookies, with dark chocolate, or as an ingredient in dessert drinks.

The Distillery

Nonino Distillatori

Nonino Distillatori from Percoto in Friuli has reinvented grappa – and that is no exaggeration. For generations, the Nonino family has been distilling with a passion that you can feel in every sip.

What was once considered a rustic pomace brandy drink, Nonino has turned into an elegant world-class spirit. The three sisters Cristina, Antonella and Elisabetta continue the legacy of their parents Giannola and Benito today – and were named the best distillery in the world in 2020. A merit that shows in every detail: from the hand-blown Murano bottles to the aged Gran Riserva.
