Prinz Salm Grauburgunder dry

Pinot Gris from the Prinz Salm winery – a grape variety with two faces: once known as the easy-drinking Ruländer, today vinified dry and with precision.

The Prinz Salm winery is one of the most traditional estates in Rheinhessen and the Nahe region. With its aristocratic winemaking history and long-standing experience with Burgundian varieties, Pinot Gris is not a new discovery here, but a reliable classic in their portfolio.

In the glass, it displays the typical golden-yellow color of the grape variety. The nose offers aromas of melon, a hint of ripe pear, and subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it is dry and fruity with a pleasant fullness, mild acidity, and a slightly creamy finish – not heavy, but with a truly smooth texture.

Weingut Prinz Salm

VDP Member Estate

The German winery Prinz Salm is now managed in the 32nd generation and is located in Wallhausen in the Nahe region. It was probably founded around the year 1200. The owner of the winery is Michael Prinz zu Salm-Salm and calls 18 ha of vineyards his own. The soils of the vineyards mainly consist of green slate. In addition to the primarily grown grape variety Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Blanc de Noir or even Pinot Noir grapes are also processed into wines at the Prinz Salm winery. The best locations include, for example, the Wallhäuser Johannisberg or the Binger Scharlachberg. Up to 120,000 bottles of wine are produced here annually.
