Planeta Etna Bianco
White from Mount Etna — that's Carricante grown on volcanic soil, with a freshness and minerality unexpected in Sicily. Planeta, one of the island's most renowned wineries, cultivates vineyards at over 870 meters on the eastern slopes of Mount Etna, where cool nights and porous lava soil provide the foundation for this style.
In the glass, it opens with aromas of acacia blossom, almond, and mountain peach. On the palate, it is juicy and dense—yellow plum, prickly pear, and a mineral-salty note on the finish, typical of the volcanic soils of Mount Etna. Acidity and fruit remain in balance, and the aftertaste is long and fresh.
James Suckling awarded 92 points for the 2021 vintage, Gambero Rosso two red glasses.
