Planeta Alastro Bianco
Named after a wildflower that blooms around the vineyards of Planeta, Alastro Bianco is a white wine with a Sicilian character — aromatic, full-bodied and pleasantly direct.
Planeta has been cultivating several estates across Sicily since the 1990s and is now one of the island's leading wineries. Alastro is made from 80% Grecanico , an indigenous Sicilian grape variety, complemented by 20% Sauvignon Blanc. This combination unites the island's Mediterranean bounty with aromatic freshness.
On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of white peach and honeydew melon , accompanied by a hint of herbs. On the palate, it is juicy and full-bodied, with a soft texture and creamy mouthfeel – very drinkable and with minimal harshness. The 2019 vintage was awarded 92 points by James Suckling and two glasses by Gambero Rosso.
Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Goes well with grilled sea bass, pasta with mussels or creamy risotto — and equally well with a relaxed evening on the terrace.
