Peter Lehmann Barossa Shiraz 1.5L Magnum

A classic Barossa Shiraz in a large format: 1.5 liter magnum from the traditional winery Peter Lehmann, which has been one of the most reliable addresses in the Australian Barossa Valley for decades.

Fully ripe Shiraz grapes from select vineyards in the valley, aged for 12 months in small American and French oak barrels. This results in the typical Barossa profile: dark blackberry fruit, plums, vanilla and black pepper, along with velvety tannins and a long, spicy finish. Not an angular wine—the body is rounded, the fruit opulent.

The magnum bottle matures more slowly than the standard bottle because the ratio of wine to cork is more favorable. Drinking window now until 2030, with further aging potential. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C.

Pairs well with braised lamb, grilled brisket, or strong hard cheese. A better choice than two standard bottles for larger gatherings.

Peter Lehmann

Peter Lehmann Wines – a pioneer from the Barossa Valley. Founded in 1977 by Peter Lehmann and his wife Margaret, the winery is now among the best in Australia. 140 contract growers cultivate over 750 vineyards – including vines that are over 100 years old. On sandy to stony soils, in a warm, sunny climate, primarily Shiraz thrives, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Chardonnay. Peter Lehmann passed away in 2013, and his son Doug continues the legacy. Awards: multiple "Best Wine Producer in Australia" awards and the Lifetime Achievement Award. An Australian wine legend.
