Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz
Peter Lehmann is a living legend, and not just since his winery was voted Australia's best producer at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2003 and 2006. The wines of the Ambassador Series are among the most highly acclaimed in the country. The grapes come from vines, some of them ancient, in those vineyards of the Barossa Valley that have always produced some of the most characterful and distinctive wines. Peter Lehmann calls the thick-skinned, small berries of these Shiraz vines, some over 100 years old, in the arid western part of the Barossa Valley, "small black jewels," from which he crafts his incredibly dense and complex Stonewell Shiraz. Aged for 18 months in French (3/4) and American oak (1/4) barriques, and then for a further 3 years in the bottle, this magnificent Shiraz is the finest wine from Peter Lehmann. Mundus Vini 2010: Silver medal for the 2005 age group; Robert M. Parker: 92 points for the 2004 age group

Peter Lehmann Wines – a pioneer from the Barossa Valley. Founded in 1977 by Peter Lehmann and his wife Margaret, the winery is now among the best in Australia. 140 contract growers cultivate over 750 vineyards – including vines that are over 100 years old. On sandy to stony soils, in a warm, sunny climate, primarily Shiraz thrives, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Chardonnay. Peter Lehmann passed away in 2013, and his son Doug continues the legacy. Awards: multiple "Best Wine Producer in Australia" awards and the Lifetime Achievement Award. An Australian wine legend.
