Peter Lehmann Eight Songs Shiraz

Eight Songs is the name of this Shiraz, taken from the musical drama "Eight Songs for a Mad King" and a series of paintings of the same name about the English King George III. The grapes are selected from vineyards with extremely low yields in the northwest of the Barossa Valley, and the wine matures for 18 months in French oak barrels. It offers an intense bouquet of ripe fruit, bittersweet chocolate, and smoky notes, a rich fullness on the palate with delicious berry flavors, and an elegant structure with rounded tannins. Peter Lehmann

Peter Lehmann Wines – a pioneer from the Barossa Valley. Founded in 1977 by Peter Lehmann and his wife Margaret, the winery is now one of Australia's best. Contracted winegrowers cultivate numerous vineyard sites – including vines that are over 100 years old. In a warm, sunny climate, primarily Shiraz, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Sémillon and Chardonnay grow on sandy to stony soils. Peter Lehmann passed away in 2013, his son Doug continues the legacy. Awards: multiple "Best Wine Producer of Australia". Australian wine legend.
