Peter Lehmann Eight Songs Shiraz

Eight Songs is the name of this Shiraz, named after the music drama "Eight Songs for a Mad King" and a painting cycle of the same name about the English King George III. The grapes are selected from vineyards with extremely low yields in the northwest of the Barossa Valley, and the wine matures for 18 months in French oak barrique barrels.

Intensive bouquet of ripe fruits, bittersweet chocolate, and smoke notes, rich fullness on the palate with delicious berry aromas, noble structure with rounded tannins.

The Winery

Peter Lehmann Wines – a pioneer from the Barossa Valley. Founded in 1977 by Peter Lehmann and his wife Margaret, the winery is today one of the best in Australia.

Contracted winegrowers cultivate numerous vineyard sites – including vines that are older than 100 years. On sandy to stony soils in a warm, sunny climate, primarily Shiraz grows, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Sémillon, and Chardonnay.

Peter Lehmann passed away in 2013, his son Doug continues the legacy. Awards: multiple "Best Wine Producer of Australia". Australian wine legend.
