Riesling Muschelkalk
Spreitzer's Riesling Muschelkalk shows what the Rheingau riverside vineyards can achieve: a wine with a clear structure, beautiful smoothness and the varietal freshness that characterizes Riesling from the Rhine.
The Spreitzer winery in Oestrich-Winkel is one of the most reliable wineries in the Rheingau region. The family cultivates vineyards directly on the banks of the Rhine, where deep, mineral-rich limestone soils allow the vines' roots to penetrate deep into the rock. This mineral subsoil gives the wines their density and characteristic character.
In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose offers aromas of fresh peach, ripe quince, and a hint of citrus zest. On the palate, it is juicy with lively acidity that keeps the wine structured without being harsh. The finish is medium-long, with a subtle mineral note.
