Grauburgunder Magnum 1.5L

Grauburgunder from the Rheingau in a magnum bottle: dry, juicy, and with fine minerality. The 1.5-liter bottle is made for large tables, for family celebrations, garden parties, or a long evening with many guests.

Spreitzer is a family winery in Oestrich-Winkel, in the middle of the Rheingau. The region is primarily associated with Riesling, but Grauburgunder also finds its home here. This wine stands for the landscape along the Rhine and for a grape variety that brings fullness and freshness together.

In the glass, the aromas are reminiscent of ripe apples and pears, accompanied by a mineral note and a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, the wine is dry, juicy, and balanced. The fruit remains in the foreground, the finish is clear and unhurried.

Serve it at 10 to 12 °C. It goes well with veal schnitzel, roasted poultry, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a mild sliced cheese. It is also an uncomplicated companion to antipasti platters and fried fish.

The German winery Spreitzer from the Rheingau was founded as early as 1641 and is now owned by Andreas and Bernd Spreitzer. It is located directly on the Rhine, not far from the cities of Mainz and Wiesbaden, and has a total vineyard area of 30 ha, which is distributed over four sites. Among the best sites of the winery are Oestricher Lenchen and Doosberg.

A special feature of the winery is the vaulted cellar from 1745 in which the produced wines are stored. The soils of the sites consist of loess loam, marl, and partly of quartzite and offer the vines excellent water supply due to the proximity to the Rhine.

At the Spreitzer winery, 97% of the Riesling grape variety is grown and only a small percentage of Pinot Noir. In total, the winery produces and sells approximately 160,000 bottles of wine.
