Nero d'Avola Sallier de la Tour DOC Sicily

Nero d'Avola Sallier de la Tour DOC Sicily
Nero d'Avola is Sicily's most important red wine variety – and the Tasca d'Almerita winery is among the houses that work out its character most clearly. The Sallier de la Tour is the house's second line, named after the noble family of the same name with whom the Tasca family became connected through marriage at the end of the 19th century.
In the glass, it shows the typical deep red of the variety with violet reflections. On the nose, ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of licorice, underpinned by discreet spice notes – cinnamon, black pepper. On the palate, medium body, velvety tannins, lively acidity, and a dry, long-lasting finish. Not a heavy wine, but one with structure and drinkability.
- Serving temperature: 16–18 °C

The Tasca d'Almerita family – across five estates, they have created something unique over two centuries: the harmony of wine and the art of living. Now in their eighth generation, they have long been part of Sicilian history. Regaleali, with 460 hectares in the heart of Sicily, is the centerpiece. In the 19th century, Villa Tasca was the center of social and artistic life. The Counts of Tasca have always stood for progress: technical innovations, new grape varieties, modern agricultural equipment – always combined with deep culture and a passion for their work. Sicily at its best.
