Nero d'Avola Sallier de la Tour DOC Sicily

Nero d'Avola Sallier de la Tour DOC Sicily
Nero d'Avola is Sicily's most important red wine grape variety – and the Tasca d'Almerita winery is among those that most clearly bring out its character. The Sallier de la Tour is the estate's second line, named after the noble family of the same name, with whom the Tasca family became connected through marriage at the end of the 19th century.
In the glass, it displays the typical deep red color of the variety with violet reflections. The nose offers ripe black cherry, plum, and a hint of licorice, underpinned by subtle spice notes – cinnamon and black pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with velvety tannins, lively acidity, and a dry, lingering finish. Not a heavy wine, but one with structure and excellent drinkability.
