Mongris Pinot Grigio Collio DOC

Copper reflections in the glass, floral depth in the bouquet — the Mongris shows what Pinot Grigio can do in Collio when it is taken seriously.

Marco Felluga is one of the most influential names in Friuli. For generations, the winery in Gradisca d'Isonzo has cultivated the hilly slopes of the Collio region, right on the Slovenian border. Here, on mineral-rich flysch soils of sandstone and marl, Pinot Grigio grows slowly and develops more substance than in flatter regions. It's no coincidence that the Friulians simply call the grape variety Gris —and gave the wine its name from it.

In the glass, the Mongris displays a rich golden yellow with warm copper hues. The nose offers aromas of acacia blossom, broom, and ripe apple, with a subtle hint of beeswax. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a soft acidity and no hint of sharpness. The finish is long and slightly spicy.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with vitello tonnato , grilled sea bream, or seafood risotto. Best enjoyed by 2027.

Marco Felluga

Marco Felluga is an Italian winery located in the town of Gradisca d'Isonzo, founded in 1956 by Marco Felluga. The current managing director is his son, Roberto Felluga, a fifth-generation winemaker in the family. Marco Felluga now manages over 100 hectares of vineyards, consisting of sandstone, clay, and marl soils. Thanks to the protection afforded by the Alps, the region enjoys a climate characterized by warm days and cool nights in spring and very mild summers. Each vineyard also possesses its own microclimate, providing ideal conditions for cultivating various grape varieties. These include Pinot Bianco, Moscato Rosa, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Ribolla Gialla.
