Ronco del Gelso TOC BAS Friulano Insonzo Rive Alte DOC

Friulano is not a grape variety that bends. If you are looking for hazelnut, bitter almond, and a slightly tart licorice spice, this is the right choice – a white wine with its own character that does not orient itself toward international models.

The Ronco del Gelso winery is located in the south of Cormons, in the heart of the Isonzo area in Friuli. The Rive Alte site – "high banks" – stands for the characteristic gravel soils of the Isonzo river, which give the wine minerality and structure. Friulano, formerly known as Tocai Friulano, is the leading grape variety of this region and has had its place here for generations.

In the glass, the TOC BAS shows a clear, yellow-gold color. On the nose, roasted hazelnut and bitter almond define the picture – complemented by fine herbal spice. On the palate, a powerful body with noticeable glycerin, which gives the wine a velvety texture. The mild bitterness is reminiscent of licorice and ensures a long, dry finish.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs with Vitello tonnato, roasted veal, pasta with white truffle, or strong mountain cheese.
