Marnasco Cabernet Sauvignon Collio DOC

A Cabernet Sauvignon from Friuli that shows what the Collio hill zone can do: clear fruit, structured aging, no unnecessary weight.

Marco Felluga is one of the most well-known addresses in the Collio DOC on the Slovenian border. The winery has been working for decades with the typical sites of this hill zone — continental climate, calcareous soils made of flysch rock, cool nights that bring freshness and structure to the wines.

In the glass, deep purple. On the nose, blackberry, black currant, and a hint of green bell pepper — typical for Cabernet Sauvignon in cooler sites. After 12 months in oak barrels and further bottle aging, cocoa and walnut are added, which round off the finish. Medium body, supple tannins, balanced acidity.

Marco Felluga

Marco Felluga is an Italian winery located in the town of Gradisca d'Isonzo, founded in 1956 by Marco Felluga. The current managing director is his son, Roberto Felluga, a fifth-generation winemaker in the family. Marco Felluga now manages over 100 hectares of vineyards, consisting of sandstone, clay, and marl soils. Thanks to the protection afforded by the Alps, the region enjoys a climate characterized by warm days and cool nights in spring and very mild summers. Each vineyard also possesses its own microclimate, providing ideal conditions for cultivating various grape varieties. These include Pinot Bianco, Moscato Rosa, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Ribolla Gialla.
