Masi Costasera Amarone Classico Riserva
An Amarone from the heart of the Classico zone – produced by Masi, one of Verona's most renowned wineries. The Costasera Riserva is made from dried Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes using the traditional appassimento method. The result: a dark, almost opaque red with violet reflections at the rim.
On the nose, cherry compote, ripe plum, and a hint of bay leaf. On the palate, warm and full-bodied, with cherries, blueberries, and sweet spices. The finish is long and dry – a fresh blueberry note as the final accent.
Aging: 38 to 40 months in 600-liter barrels made of Savonian oak and Allier – one-third new, one-third second-fill, one-third fifth-fill. This is followed by at least six months of bottle rest. This combination moderates the influence of new oak and allows the fruit to take center stage.
Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Best enjoyed now, aging potential until 2032+. Pairs well with braised beef, game, aged Parmigiano Reggiano or dark chocolate.
