Rosa dei Masi delle Venezie Rosato
A rosé that has more character than its price suggests: fruity and spicy, with real backbone from northeastern Italy.
Masi is one of the most renowned wineries in Veneto – family-owned for generations and known for its meticulous work with indigenous grape varieties. The Rosa dei Masi combines Refosco , an ancient red grape variety from Friuli, with Merlot from Veneto. After fermentation and malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for two to three months in stainless steel tanks and a further two months in the bottle – the result is a rosé with fresh acidity and a firm structure.
On the nose, strawberry and raspberry, followed by a subtle spiciness clearly derived from the Refosco. The finish offers almonds and a hint of roasted coffee – unusual for a rosé, but harmonious. Medium-bodied, very drinkable without being shallow.
