Masi Bonacosta Valpolicella Classico
At the foot of the vineyards that supply the grapes for the great Amarone wines, the vines for Bonacosta Valpolicella grow, benefiting from a gentle breeze. These grapes give Bonacosta its distinctive ruby-red color and aroma of ripe cherries. Full-bodied yet fresh on the palate, this red wine harmonizes with a wide variety of dishes – from simple to sophisticated. The wine matures for eight months in Slavic oak barrels. 20% of the Corvina matures in new Allier and small Slavic oak barrels. This is followed by two to three months of bottle aging. Robert M. Parker: 88 points for the 2013 vintage.

Masi is an Italian winery located in the Veneto region of northern Italy. Founded in the 18th century by the Boscaini family, the estate lies in a small valley (Italian: "Masi") that offers excellent conditions for vine growth. The winery employs special techniques, including double fermentation and appassimento, in which the grapes are dried for several weeks before processing. These processes impart a richer color and more complex aromas to Masi wines. The grapes are cultivated on a total of 40 hectares of vineyards, including volcanic soils. The grape varieties used include Corvina, Refosco, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Gewürztraminer.
