Machoman Monastrell MMM
MachoMan Monastrell is the pure reflection of the terroir from its origin, with aromas of red fruits (plum, cherry), rosemary, thyme, balsamic, and menthol.
Fresh, silky, long, elegant, and unique.
The grapes come from 13 Parastrell vineyards in La Raja (where the winery is located) between the El Carche and La Pila mountain ranges. The vines are between 20 and 70 years old, within the D.O. Jumilla wine region in southern Spain.
The poor, flat, and calcareous soils, together with the extremely dry climate of the area, will strain the plant, which has little vigor. The result is a very high-quality fruit.
Monastrell from this area is traditionally grown in a 3 x 2 or 3 x 3 frame, goblet-pruned.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second and third week of September in small 15 kg crates at the optimal time of ripeness. The harvest takes place in the early hours of the day so that the grapes arrive at the winery at a temperature of about 15°C. The grapes pass through two selection tables before reaching the storage tanks.
Fermentation is carried out in truncated conical tanks of 7,000 liters (the cap is thinner and this inverted shape allows for softer and less aggressive pressing) at a controlled temperature of 28°C.
In new French oak barrels, 240 and 450 liters in size, from four cooperages (Seguin Moreau, ANA, Saint Martin, and Saury).
MachoMan also ages in 800-liter Roman clay amphorae.

The Bodega
Casa Rojo – Spanish wines with brains. "Too many cooks spoil the broth"? Not here. Twelve wine enthusiasts from different fields – oenologists, winemakers, designers, sales people – have joined forces to break new ground.
Authentic varietal wines are created from six different DOs in Spain, each with its own character, typical of its origin. Aging takes place on-site, collected in Murcia.
Casa Rojo is deliberately small. Grape cultivation, oenology, design – wine as a personality. "Amor, pasión y respeto por el vino, su cultura y su origen." Love, passion, respect.
