Jungano Aglianico

Aglianico from the heart of Cilento — robust, yet with a structure that reveals finesse. Jungano is a red wine that brings the rugged beauty of Campania directly to the glass.

Azienda Agricola San Salvatore is located in Giungano, a small village in Cilento, the southernmost part of the province of Salerno. The winery cultivates its vineyards within the Cilento National Park nature reserve—one of the few regions in Italy where Aglianico is still grown in such an authentic way. The Jungano wine takes its name from its home village and reflects the terroir of this wild, hilly landscape.

After controlled fermentation, the wine matures for a year in a combination of wooden and stainless steel tanks—an approach that preserves the fruit while simultaneously developing some structure. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red. The nose offers sour cherry and dark blackberry, underpinned by violets and a hint of allspice. On the palate, it is powerful and full-bodied, with tannins that are present but not harsh—a long, spicy finish.
