Il Pino di Biserno Toscana IGT

A Tuscan red wine that shows even at a young age what the Maremma terroir can do: dense fruit, silky tannins and a structure that rewards patience.

Tenuta di Biserno is located in the westernmost part of Tuscany, near Bibbona on the Tyrrhenian coast. The winery was founded by the brothers Lodovico and Piero Antinori – two names synonymous with meticulous craftsmanship in the Italian wine world. Il Pino di Biserno is the more approachable sibling of the grand Biserno cru: ready to drink earlier, but with the same commitment to quality in the cellar.

Twelve months of barrel aging are clearly evident: blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of cedar, underpinned by a subtle spiciness from the oak. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, the finish medium-long with a pleasant warmth. James Suckling awarded 93 points, Wine Spectator 91 – both for the 2016 vintage.

Tenuta di Biserno

Tenuta di Biserno – Tuscan Maremma with a sea view. Located in Bibbona, the view extends all the way to Corsica. Founded in 2002 by Lodovico and Piero Antinori. Ideal climate, cool breezes from the coast, soils of clay and limestone – perfect conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. 50 hectares of vineyards, under the direction of oenologist Helena Lindberg, produce 160,000 bottles of wine annually. Small quantities of olive oil and grappa are also produced. Here, Tuscan tradition meets a visionary spirit. Maremma at its best.
