Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes AC 0.75L

The Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes from Delas Frères is one of the classic addresses of the northern Rhône: a single-varietal Syrah from one of France's most prestigious hills, combining the power of granite with the elegance of the appellation's character.

Delas Frères is one of the oldest négociant houses in the Rhône, founded in 1835 in Tournon-sur-Rhône. The grapes for this Hermitage come from three sites: L'Ermite, Le Sabot, and Les Bessards — all located on the granitic core of the Hermitage hill, which gives the Syrah its typical density and minerality. Hand-harvesting ensures selection at the highest level.

In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby red. The nose brings black olive, blackberry, and violets, along with the peppery spice characteristic of northern Rhône Syrahs and a mineral undertone. On the palate, it presents itself with firm but well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, spicy finish.

Best served at 16–18 °C, with braised rack of lamb, wild boar with red wine reduction, or a ripe Cantal. If drinking it young, it should be decanted at least two hours beforehand.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
