Hermitage Cru Les Bessards AC 0.75L

A Hermitage from the estate's top parcel — concentrated, structured, with the long breath of the northern Rhône.

Delas Frères is one of the most traditional négociant houses in the Rhône Valley, founded in 1835 in Tournon-sur-Rhône. Les Bessards is the oldest and steepest parcel of the Hermitage appellation, characterized by granite and deep root systems. Delas vinifies this single vineyard as a Vin Parcellaire — and only in years that have the potential for it. Pure Syrah, no blending.

In the glass, the 2022 shows dark blackberry and cassis, plus graphite, black pepper, and a hint of olive tapenade — typical aromatics of the granitic Hermitage soil. Powerful body, dense but not coarse tannins, long mineral finish.

Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs well with braised leg of lamb with rosemary, wild boar ragout, or a strong Époisses.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
